Friday Quick 5

This one has to be QUICK because...

1.  We're leaving for Denver.  This next week is CIY (Christ in Youth) for our youth group.  If you're not familiar with CIY, basically: annual conference, for youth, teaching, worship, fun.  This year, we are going to KNOW Sweat CIY, basically: teaching, worship, service project (and fun).  It's gonna be good.  I think I might be a little crazy taking two babies, but thankfully, my in-laws live in Denver.  We're staying with them; we'll have baby-sitting. :)

AND

2.  I have so much to do!  I am working on my writing project, which I have due at the beginning of July, I need to pack, wash the dishes (so nothing disgusting grows on them while we're gone...), clean out the fridge, freeze some things, and hopefully (hopefully) get the place tidied a bit so we don't come back to a FEMA-certified disaster area.

3.  My mom is awesome.  Really, that's enough said, but to prove it: she knows that Thursdays are crazy, and this one yesterday was extra crazy with trying to get ready to leave town.  So what did she do?  She delved into her stash of leftovers-for-another-dinner and brought Nick and I dinner.  She totally did this at the last minute, and didn't have to.  See?  Awesomeness.  Right there.

4.  Eliza cracks me up.  Yesterday, she couldn't find me and went from room to room in the apartment, calling, "Hewwo?  Hewwooooo!"  I found her in her room with her hands in the air and a look on her face that clearly said, "Where did that woman get to??"  I had to stop right there in the middle of the entryway and just laugh my head off.  And she laughed with me.  Add to that, whenever her brother gets a little upset, she'll bend over him and ask, "Awwight, bubby?  Awwight."  (Translation: Are you alright, bubby?  It's alright.")  It is so much fun to listen to her slowly add more and more to her vocabulary.  Though right now, when she's mad and telling us about it, it's still baby jabbers.  I think that can stay for awhile.

5.  I am thinking about learning to sew.  Eeek!  I made a mess of a home-ec sweatshirt project: ran the surger straight across the shoulder, completely missing the seam.  It was unwearable until I took out the surger seam (do you know how long that takes?  Ick), and put a big applique heart across the gaping hole.  I only wore the stupid thing once: the day everyone had to wear the projects to school.  It disappeared shortly after that.  However, I've seen projects on the internet were I could possibly makes some really cute things for Eliza.  Maybe when life slows down a little this fall I can consider it.  Hmmm...

Have a happy weekend!  And a happy 4th!  We'll catch you later.
