They're not lying when they say the second day is hard. I hope they're not lying when they say that the third day is easier.
We started yesterday. We are kind of/mostly/sort of following the potty-training in a day method. Mostly because we are not buying Pull-Ups. Period. I just don't want to pay for them. Period. Plus, Eliza has been dry at night for weeks and weeks now. (Not that I would be remotely surprised by an accident tomorrow morning, after a day like today....)
Yesterday was smooth sailing. Last night, I knew today was coming. I think that helped. Even when she had an accident on the couch minutes before I was supposed to leave for the Forum at church. When she laughed when we went back and forth, telling her she needed to potty on the toilet, not the floor/couch/in her pants... Even when she cried and cried and cried because she was standing in a puddle of her own making in the middle of the living room. It was a rough day for her, too. And knowing it was going to be a rough day helped me to keep up my attitude, though I was tired and trying very hard not to be discouraged or frustrated or ...whatever.
Potty-training Day 3 tomorrow. We'll see how this goes. Really, this is more like toilet-training in a week. Let's hope not two.
