It's that time again: weight-loss.

Yup.  It's been six weeks since Levi was born.  I am all healed up and cleared for exercise.  Obviously, since it's not been that long since I pushed a nine-and-a-half pound baby out, I'm not diving into P90X, yet.

Here's the plan: start light and small.  My body is definitely out of shape at the moment.  I want to work myself back in gently.  My fear with that, though, is when I decide to start slow, I barely start at all.  With P90X, I just dove in and the challenge of it kept me going.  There are more considerations to starting off small, though, than just physical readiness.  With three little ones with erratic sleep patterns (no matter how hard I try to keep them regular), exercise time may be at a premium.  I don't want to be beating myself up if I can't it done that day.  Hence my plan:

The intention is to combine yoga and Zumba until the new year.  Again, "light" is the focus: I intend to go through the instructional dvd for a bit and re-familiarize myself with the steps.  (A good dancer, I am not.)  Then, I'll move up to their workouts, probably the 20-minute for a time and then longer ones when I get the time.  I'll continue the post-natal yoga dvd I have until I'm ready for a bigger challenge, and then start the P90X yoga again. I still have some standing goals there.  3 days of Zumba, 2 days of yoga a week, and then hopefully add in an extra day of exercise when I can.

Again, this is the plan until the new year.  Then, depending on what's going on, I hope to start P90X again.  The goal? To lose 30 pounds before the next baby.  We don't have a definitive timeline for the last youngster we hope to have, so I may not be able to make that goal.  Still, it's good to have a goal, something to push me forward.

While today's going kind of rough, I still hope to get something in this afternoon.  Wish me luck!

  1. Go girl! I know you can do it! I definitely do not yet enjoy working out as much as I wish I did, but it's growing on me, especially because it is making such a visible difference! And hey, you're three and a half years ahead of me still if you start loosing the baby weight now! :)
